The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) may find an ally in its quest to provide guidance in the use of AI from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
The FTC has been leading regulatory efforts in the U.S. when it comes to AI. Late last year the FTC issued guidance on AI and ML - making it clear that the organization is taking potential issues with AI (such as bias and discrimination) seriously.
Meanwhile, NIST has been developing an Artificial Intelligence Risk Management Framework (AI RMF) with the intention to make AI responsible and trustworthy.
